D&T Primary Self-Review Framework – making monitoring and evaluation easier and more effective.

In early 2026, the D&T Association will transition to a new website and associated IT systems as part of its ongoing improvements. This will affect the Self-Review Framework and D&T Mark. The new system will have revised statements to work towards, will be renamed the ‘D&T Quality Mark’ and will not be able to transfer any evidence from the current one automatically.

As such, we will not be processing any additional applications using the current system. If you intend to apply for the ‘D&T Mark’, we would advise you to wait until the new system is in place in the first quarter of 2026. If you have begun to collate evidence, we advise you to keep copies to then apply on the new system (with different statements) after this time.

The Primary Self-Review Framework is designed to help you determine the quality and effectiveness of all aspects of Design and Technology provision in your school.

The Framework is a membership benefit.  This primary version is free to Primary School members.  A secondary version is free for Secondary Departmental members.   If you have Individual membership you can convert it to Primary School membership to take advantage of this valuable new benefit (see terms and conditions).

The D&T Mark is a new quality mark which schools can apply for if they meet all the criteria in the Self-Review Framework.
